Hawaii to become latest US state to stop cosmetic animal testing
3rd May 2021
The US state of Hawaii will soon ban cosmetics animal testing in a new move that comes after the US states of California, Nevada, Maryland, Virginia and Illinois have all banned cosmetic animal testing.
According to Totally Vegan Buzz.com "On 30th April, the Hawaii Cruelty Free Cosmetics Act (HCFCA) passed its final vote in the state legislature.
Once signed by Governor David Ige, the new bill will stop cosmetic manufacturers from selling any cosmetic product involving new animal testing from 1st January 2022."
This new legislation comes as consumer demand more cruelty-free cosmetics is arguably at an all time high as awareness of animal welfare is rising among cosmetics consumers.
